1.The Institute was founded in December 1962 on the basis of All-Union
Extra-Mural Energetics Institute, which enrolled 2000 students. Associate
Professor P.S.Mosunov was the first Rector of the Institute. 4 Faculties were
established in 1964, they enrolled 5000 students.
In 1965-1966 educational-consulting centers were opened in Kirovo-Chepetsk
and Vyatskiye Polyany. Professor V.M.Kondratov is the present Rector of the
Institute.
2. The Institute has 9 Faculties:
- Automation and Computers
- Automated Machine-Building
- Electrotechnics
- Chemical Technology
- Engineering
- the Humanities
- a Part-Time Faculty
- an Extra-Mural Faculty
- a Part-Time Faculty in Kirovo-Chepetsk
which enroll 5000 students (3600 full-time, 1400 part-time and extra-mural
students). 9 branchers of the Institute's Departments were opened at industrial
enterprises and research institutes.

3. 424 teachers and lecturers work at the Institute, among them - 21
Professors, Doctors of Sciences, 254 Associate Professors, Candidates of
Sciences.

5. The Institute's research programme corresponds to the specialists'
training orientation and aims at solving fundamental and applied problems.
The Institute offers postgraduate courses in 5 specialities.
